SHERN met at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle on February 26, 2016. Our presenter was Erika Lund, a recovery coordinator at Seattle’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM). Erika explained the structure of disaster recovery in Seattle, and handed out a chart showing the relationships between OEM and the many government agencies and experts who have input during recovery. The plan which Erika showed us is currently in the approval process in the mayor’s office and is slated for city council approval this spring. The Disaster Recovery Framework document which Erika drew from for her presentation is available on OEM website.
